Different Types of Dolphins

There are many different types of dolphins. The kinds of dolphins you might see depend on your where you live or the location you are visiting, and the times of year, or migration patterns for a wild swim.

The bottlenose dolphin is probably one of the most popular and well know type and the one you would most likely see in a dolphinarium. They seem very easy and even eager to be trained.

Whereas the spotted dolphin is very hard to train and you probably would only see this one in a wild swim. Although in wild swims spotted dolphins seem to approach humans more often in the wild than the bottlenose kind who may be cautious and stay further away.

Of course every species is different and every encounter is unique. Dolphins can range in size, color, behavior, and live in many different areas around the world.

How many species of dolphins are there? Well this seems to differ depending on the source.
