Dolphins Stuck

Have you heard about the Dolphins Stuck in the New Jersey river?

The New Jersey Herald reports that a pod of dolphins can be found along the Shrewsbury River between Sea Bright and Rumson.

They have been there since mid June, and reports suggest there are 15 Bottlenose Dolphins including adults and babies.

Many interested people have wondered why they are there, and if they are stuck, and if so, how to get them out?

People have suggested all kinds of ways from scaring them with Orca sounds, dropping underwater cages into the river, and kayakers herding them out, among many others.

Officials are saying they are letting the dolphins stay for now, and trying to keep boaters away, so that no harm will come to them.

According to KOB News, officials have even said they will fine people up to $10,000 for boaters who enter too close to the dolphins.

It is a fascinating sight though! Many businesses and local restaurants are reporting record sales since the family has moved into the river. People are coming from everywhere to see this unique wild encounter.
